The cost of your daily hit - a modern sugar factory

We are literally born wanting the taste of sweetness. We are hardwired to want sugar. In fact, a mothers breast milk is extremely high in very sweet compounds called oligosaccharides, essential food for the emerging and fledgling infant microbiome. Sweet as nature provides is all around us. That’s no accident.

Problems arise from the ultra-processed refining process, its ubiquitous addition to all manufactured and processed food and its overconsumption. The more refined, the more toxic. In fact, there is now a clear correlation between refined sugar consumption and Alzheimer's Disease. Type III Diabetes is the new medical term tying together the direct correlation between those diagnosed with diabetes and their eventual high rate of Alzheimer's diagnosis. As esteemed functional health physician, Dr. Mark Hyman succinctly puts it

The underlying causes of Alzheimer’s disease begin with too much sugar on the brain. The cycle starts when we over-consume sugar and don’t eat enough fat, which leads to diabesity. Diabesity leads to inflammation, which creates a vicious cycle that wreaks havoc on your brain

The process begins by ruining your taste buds
