I’m very moved by your post and thank you. My new life in the Central Valley of Costa Rica resembles your own healing journey. I’m very grateful for you and your work and wish you all the very best. 🤗
Hi David! Thank you so much for your kind words of support for this crazy path. I LOVE what you and your wife are doing. Congratulations, its definitely a big step to live the vagabond life after having the earthbound life, especially that earthbound life of a food business owner. I am so glad that our paths crossing inspired you to open your business, that is deeply gratifying to me. Now, we get to share in allowing ourselves a break from the constant pushing, doing, strategizing. I'm sure you and your wife will unfold in beautiful ways by creating this amazing adventure. I subscribed to your Substack and looking forward to following your path! Kuddos, bravery prevails...
Hi Angela! I agree, deconstructing and rebuilding for us all is inevitable. It's the time we are all collectively living. Yes, love your words of being a pupa, and I hope that here, in giving myself the opportunity to retreat from all the "doing" and begin to just sit in "being" for a minute will allow the pupa of myself to emerge into what I am now becoming. Thank you for your kind words of support and shared alignment with the process of evolving in a new, more authentic version of ourselves.
Brava, Christine! You are showing people how to deconstruct and rebuild...this is going to happen over and over again...I will be in your heels as my life is similarly breaking apart. I will retreat. Stop and listen. A pupa, not yet ready to emerge as someone new. Following....maybe joining...a fresh thymes ginger cookie-holic, Angela
Beautiful. You and I met at a panel on local small businesses in Boulder about 10 years ago. Speaking with you, I was inspired to push forward with my business, Pie in the Sky Bakery. Now, over 10 years later, I'm no longer involved with it. My wife and I set out today, literally TODAY on a journey we've been dreaming about for 10 years. We bought an RV two years ago and have been unwinding our lives in Boulder, much as you did and now are free to roam about the country in our motorhome. I completely resonate with what you've expressed here. "Push, push strategize". That was my life for many years. But no more. I feel blessed that my wife stood by me and we are financially secure enough to live the life of vagabonds now. It's funny, we looked at moving to Costa Rica several years ago, and still may. But for now, our journey is to circumnavigate the US, and Canada as long as our 60 something bodies hold out. I am now a paid subscriber and look forward to your posts as you continue your journey to healing and self fulfillment. My Substack page is https://davids4550.substack.com if you're interested in following our journey. Peace and good health to you Christine. And I still miss your cashew pasta sauce. Ahhhh the Mac Attack, with carmelized onions.
